Fecal Transplant Options

A fecal transplant is a procedure that transfers stool from a donor to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract of another person to replenish bacterial balance. This is used to treat antibiotic-refractory C difficile. Fecal transplants help to introduce more “good” bacteria into a patient’s GI tract when antibiotics kill off too many. These good bacteria may help against a range of health conditions.
